Scarlett St. Clair
From bestselling author Scarlett St. Clair comes a dark and enthralling reimagining of the Hades and Persephone Greek myth. "Let me worship you," he said. She remembered the words she had whispered to him in the back of the limo after La Rose. "You will worship me, and I won't even have to order you." His request felt sinful and devious, and she reveled in it. She answered, "Yes." Persephone is the Goddess of Spring in title only. Since she was a little girl, flowers have only shriveled at her touch. After moving to New Athens, she hoped to lead an unassuming life disguised as a mortal journalist. All of that changes when she sits down in a forbidden nightclub to play a hand of cards with a hypnotic and mysterious stranger. Hades, God of the Dead, has built a gambling empire in the mortal world and his favorite bets are rumored to be impossible. But nothing has ever intrigued him as much as the goddess offering him a bargain he can't resist. After her encounter with Hades, Persephone finds herself in a contract with the God of the Dead, and his terms are impossible: Persephone must create life in the Underworld or lose her freedom forever. The bet does more than expose Persephone's failure as a goddess, however. As she struggles to sow the seeds of her freedom, love for the God of the Dead grows--a love that is both captivating and forbidden.

"A re-telling of the story between Persephone and Hades. Desirable and alluring the relationship between these two gods leaves nothing to the imagination…or maybe in this case everything! Persephone and Hades is one of my favorite Greek mythology stories, I enjoyed how this author put their story in such a modern and intimate form. I am most thrilled there’s a double series of the perspectives from both gods!"
"Okay so Im absolutely hated how the author portrayed Persephone because I hated her the entire book. It made it very difficult to read.
Spoilers
This is how I wouldve kinda written the book. I wouldve started the book pretty similar but with Persephone but not have her longing for Hades before they even meet. Her mom wouldve been a bigger role in the entire book. Hades wouldn’t be eye ******* her and making out with her every other chapter. Instead I would’ve preferred more of a slow burn. She would still write her article with hatred in the beginning with Adonis finishing it and publishing it in her name without her permission. It would create a misunderstanding and she would address it when she realized Hades was a good person. Cuz like cmon i got 3 chaps left and she still hasn’t told him. She would still have her contract with Hades but he would be the one trying to teach her how to use her magic and Hecate would be the one who showed her how good he is and around his realm. When Adonis forcefully kissed her she would tell Lexa what happened and she would encourage her to tell her boss what happened. And when she went to the party with all the gods her mom should’ve found out she was there and that it was her with Hades since her mom knew she wrote the article.
Like this book couldve been so good if Persephone had ANY character development the entire book but she hasn’t really. I mean she might within the last 3 chapters but that would seem like it was rushed."
"Really good read. Pretty spicy with lots of sexual tension. I know it’s a series but it could be a good stand alone book. "

"I felt like I was late to the party with this book, it was very spicy. Overall I did like the story, a little predictable at parts, but still entertaining. Did I love Hades, not really.. but you know there’s something brewing underneath the surface so you keep reading."
