"After reading this book (The 2nd in the first Red Rising Trilogy) I have come to three conclusions. 1: Sevro is one of the best characters ever written, in any book. 2: Red Rising is better then The Hunger Games. 3: Darrow is a fantastic main character, unique, and his character arc is really well written. "

"Honestly I think this book is even better than the first one. Its also the first book where I cried while reading. (Kinda spoilers) Like Darrow I believed they would change. Only for my hopes to be shattered. Sevro is still my favorite character along with Ragnar now. I hope the next book is just as good or better. (No spoilers after here) I think this is the best series I have ever read so far. Im not sure if any other series can compare."

"1st reread Understandably I was worried going into this. We all know the famous disease thats catching. It's called second book syndrome. Red Rising was amazing. Perfect, atmospheric, engaging, bloody, and a howling good time. How do you keep that momentum going? Impossible right? Wrong. The comradery and bonds in Red Rising was some of my favorite elements. Then suddenly the games are over and it's time to split up. I didn't want to continue because I didn't trust the author could keep up with my expectations. This seires continued to surprise me even when I thought the pinnacle had been reached. Honestly, I can't get enough of being front and center in Darrow's thoughts. The way he thinks and plans ahead but subtly keeping us in the dark to punch us in the face later with a twist. But even more so the way Darrow treats people like the human race should. Man does he trusts too much though. So his biggest strength becomes his biggest flaw at times. Still you have to love him for trying. There is steady action throughout. People die with no fan fair. There is a sense of helplessness and sometimes hope. Comradery comes back into play. I can't say enough about this book. Oh and the author also gives you a little more history on how the colors came to be. I can see why fans of Hunger Games and Enders Game would love this. But I'll give you a spoiler the Red Rising Saga is better."

"At first as I read I couldn’t decide if this second book was better than the first. Then I got to the ending. This was a great book, a great story, non stop action. You never know who is on your side and if the long con is going to work. Best ending to a book that I’ve read. The definition of a cliffhanger. Most definitely sticking with the series. I’m hooked. "

"DARROWS GETTIN INTO THE **** IN THIS ONE!!! The only reason I’m giving it 4/5 is that there is literally so much going on it’s hard to keep things straight but!!! This book had me gripping my tootsies in the ground and thinking about the next book. SUCH A BIG CLIFF HANGER!! Either way if you like the first one you’re gonna love this one! "
