They came to earth-Pestilence, War, Famine, Death-four horsemen riding their screaming steeds, racing to the corners of the world. Four horsemen with the power to destroy all of humanity. They came to earth, and they came to end us all. When Pestilence comes for Sara Burn's town, one thing is certain: everyone she knows and loves is marked for death. Unless, of course, the angelic-looking horseman is stopped, which is exactly what Sara has in mind when she shoots the unholy beast off his steed.Too bad no one told her Pestilence can't be killed. Now the horseman, very much alive and very pissed off, has taken her prisoner, and he's eager to make her suffer. Only, the longer she's with him, the more uncertain she is about his true feelings towards her ... and hers towards him.And now, well, Sara might still be able to save the world, but in order to do so, she'll have to sacrifice her heart in the process.

"Ok so I finished it in hours, don’t come for me. I really love this theme of enemies to lovers, villain’s deep dark twisted purpose questioned by a heroine who’s willing to risk it all for the greater good, even if it means losing what she comes to cherish the most. Their first encounter?PHENOMENAL! The end however, eh. But I’m committed nonetheless, cuz apocalyptic sexy horsemen #sayless "
"Boring, poorly written with a promising story. You could have taken this story and made it so good. However this seems to read like a high schooler wrote it. The narrator is dull and I was really over it when she kept reminding us she’s a firefighter and that Pestilence is a horseman and also that he’s meant for her to suffer. I understand not all romance books are written to be quality but this was straight up awful and could have been done better. The only reason I gave it two stars was because I liked the premise of the story. "
"The first book I have really loved since ACOTAR, and trust me, I've looked! The morally grey, supernatural love interest with the slow burn romance really did it for me. Post-apocalyptic setting, ****, short length and sarcastic main character are all pluses for me! It's not too heavy on the ****, I generally like more, but it was done perfectly in this story and was satisfying. There is a "love you so much they will change for you" theme in this series, which I am wary of, but it's honestly my favorite book I've read in a long time. In the first 50%, I laughed out loud, cried, and was excited about the romance. I would consider myself a picky reader, and I can't ask for more from a book than that combo. If you don't take it too seriously (ie nitpicking the plot, some cringey dialogue, questionable morals), it is such an enjoyable read. Pestilence gets 4/5 from me. Will excitedly be reading the rest! "Very interesting subject. A lot of graphic talk about plague deaths. The romance was insta love (on his part) once they crossed that like but that makes sense because of his background."

"This book did not disappoint and I’m totally in love with this series. I love how the author feeds us plenty of moments and she hit every single sweet spot that I crave to read about for romance. I don’t know how the other horsemen could top Pestilence. Also, of course I did have my “hmmm something ain’t right about this” moments during the read but overall I absolutely loved the book"
"Started off strong; but some of the plot lines get recycled throughout the other books in the series. Girl saves Horseman, Horseman falls for her trope. Similar stories every book. Would check these out at the library instead of buying. IMO Pestilence was the best. They are easy reads, not very complex. Spice level 2.5 out of 5 "
