"Charlize Theron is almost unrecognizable in her role as the true life serial killer, Aileen Wuornos. Based on a true story, they try to kind of explain why Wuornos did what she did, as if she was the victim that was hardened to become a killer. Top notch acting across the board and well produced. 8/10"

"It’s crazy how unattractive they made Charlize Theron look she was damn near unrecognizable. I’ve watched documentaries about Aileen just because she was from my home state. And they did a very good job of telling her story. I just really wasn’t feeling how they made seem like it’s other ppl fault that she became a killer. They kinda gave her this heroic arc where she was only killing bad men. When In all actuality she was a cold blooded killer. Great film other than that."

"Based on the true story of female serial killer Aileen Wuornos, Charlize Theron won an Academy Award for her portrayal of Wuornos. Christina Ricci plays Wuornos’ girlfriend Ty. The acting is great, the production value is high, but the movie’s focus is on the relationship between the two women as Wuornos commits her crimes. It was surely developed as a vehicle for Theron’s Oscar. It’s a solid four-star movie but I prefer more focus on the investigation. The lack of focus on the investigation and the effect of her crimes in the community for me makes this have very little rewatch value. Part of me prefers the made for TV movie, but if you like true crime movies definitely give this one a watch."
