Maren Lis looking for a Book in Mystery Mob

Spooky and/or haunting but not overly violent or gory mystery suggestions? I am thinking more like Simone St. James, less like Stephen king. I love ghosts stories but I am not a huge fan of excessive violence. Some is fine because mysteries often involve victims, but I am talking like a fist fight or a fade to black scene, NOT a graphic description of entrails wrapped around their neck like a scarf.
