The A.B.C. Murders - Likewise Book Reviews

"So by chapter 16 I finally caught on to who the ABC murderer was only to find out that they mentioned him in chapter 2. Apparently I was so oblivious to who he was, it should have clicked in the beginning. Only to find out by Hercule Poirot’s explanation of the real murderer, that I was wrong. I was miss led by Agatha’s tactic of story telling 🤦♀️
From the title I had a feeling the murderer would do his killings in an alphabetical way. I had not realized till a few chapters in that the railway guide was titled ABC railway that could also be the murderers theme. To top it off as a perfect murderer by miss leading me to believe that the ABC murderer who killed in an alphabetical manner of victims living in cities that also began with the same letter as their first/last names was by Alexander Bonaparte Cust. Only to find out at the end that Mr. Cust was only an innocent salesman who was hired as a distraction to sell stockings in the same areas of the murderers to distract the police from the real murderer Mr. Franklin Clarke."

"These Agatha Christie novels are great. Kept me guessing the whole time, right to the end."

"The first half was a bit boring and repetitive.
The second half things start to get more interesting, but ultimately, I found the reveal to be underwhelming."

"Very good book. I like the conversations between the characters. I had wanted someone else to be the murderer but alas, I was wrong. The actual murderer was still good though."
