Meet Odd Thomas, the unassuming young hero of Dean Koontz’s dazzling New York Times bestseller, a gallant sentinel at the crossroads of life and death who offers up his heart in these pages and will forever capture yours. “The dead don’t talk. I don’t know why.” But they do try to communicate, with a short-order cook in a small desert town serving as their reluctant confidant. Sometimes the silent souls who seek out Odd want justice. Occasionally their otherworldly tips help him prevent a crime. But this time it’s different. A stranger comes to Pico Mundo, accompanied by a horde of hyena-like shades who herald an imminent catastrophe. Aided by his soul mate, Stormy Llewellyn, and an unlikely community of allies that includes the King of Rock ’n’ Roll, Odd will race against time to thwart the gathering evil. His account of these shattering hours, in which past and present, fate and destiny, converge, is a testament by which to live—an unforgettable fable for our time destined to rank among Dean Koontz’s most enduring works.

"The Odd Thomas series is one of Koontz's best ever. Creepiness, comedy, suspense. Once you read one you have to read them all."

"Odd Thomas is a great character and even though he sees dead people and is a bit eccentric.....he is easy to relate too and is quite funny and quirky. I loved the fact that this book dealt with the supernatural.....had a few nasty characters that were killers and just plain ole mean people.....had a sweet, chaste romance and all of these were pulled together without one f-bomb thrown in every other sentence and actually no swearing at all and no graphic sex scenes and the 'gore' was very well on the lowdown. It was refreshing to just enjoy the story and laugh and cry and not have to winch every time something unnecessary was thrown in your way. I am hooked on Odd Thomas and will be reading all 4 books because he has found a way into my heart."

"I like Dean Koontz writing style. I've been following his work for a very long time. The Odd Thomas series is definitely a favorite and the character is one of his best. The movie is pretty good. (Not as good as the book as we all know how that goes)"

"This series stole my heart from the first line. Odd is an excellent protagonist, and Dean is an incredible creator. Together, this plot and world sucks you in and makes you feel as though you’re alongside on the adventure. #deankoontz #scifi #thriller "
