Now a major motion picture starring Kate Winslet and Idris Elba. An atmospheric, suspenseful and gripping story of two people finding love while fighting to survive. When a blizzard strands them in Salt Lake City, two strangers agree to charter a plane together, hoping to return home; Ben Payne is a gifted surgeon returning from a conference, and Ashley Knox, a magazine writer, is en route to her wedding. But when unthinkable tragedy strikes, the pair find themselves stranded in Utah’s most remote wilderness in the dead of winter, badly injured and miles from civilization. Without food or shelter, and only Ben’s mountain climbing gear to protect themselves, Ashley and Ben’s chances for survival look bleak, but their reliance on each other sparks an immediate connection, which soon evolves into something more. Days in the mountains become weeks, as their hope for rescue dwindles. How will they make it out of the wilderness and if they do, how will this experience change them forever? Heart-wrenching and unputdownable, The Mountain Between Us will reaffirm your belief in the power of love to sustain us.

"I put off reading this because I heard it was boring but I absolutely loved it! I felt it was the perfect length and kept my interest the whole time. Loved the characters so much! "

"I read this book based on a recommendation from my cousin (shoutout Mary). I’m glad I listened. This book had the perfect blend of adventure, romance, and real-life. I love how human all the characters are, meaning that nobody is too perfect, too flawed, or too over-the-top. I was constantly wanting to know what was going to happen next and needing to read the next chapter. I can see why they made this book into a movie, though I’m not sure I’ll watch it. It honestly reminded me of a Kristan Hannah book and many different types of readers would enjoy. Much like Hannah, it’s not all rainbows and sunshine. 4.5/5 "

"Great survival book with a very very slow burn love story that was so sweet. The struggles they face and how these two motivate themselves to get off a mountain after a plane crash definitely leans towards a feel good happy ending kind of story for when you need a little drama but mostly lighthearted hope"

"This is basically Hatchet but with a corny romance. "

"I legitimately couldn’t read this book fast enough. And it didn’t matter where I was reading the book, it felt like I was in the book. The detail given was amazing and I just loved the story in general!! I would give this a 10 out of 5 if I could. "

"<strong>Loved it. </strong><br/><br/>I thought the trailer for this movie looked interesting so I knew the book would be better and I was NOT disappointed. <br/><br/>This book was so well written, I enjoyed every word. While it is a love story, it isn’t the main idea. It doesn’t take away from the peril that these two face. It’s such a great book. I really really enjoyed it. ❤️❤️"

"Honesty, I really liked The Silent Patient. And I just finished It Ends With Us. Both were great reads. For a classic Where The Red Fern Grows"

"The story pics up interestingly at the start but I felt it lacked depth towards the middle. For me it was an average read. I was expecting more drama and suspense."

"In <i>The Mountain Between Us</i>, any suspense related to whether or not the protagonists survive is overshadowed by the entertaining banter between them and inner monologues of quieter moments. Some of this novel's cheesier moments may make you gag, and the plot may be a bit predictable, but there are still some gems of wisdom to be found in the character's backstories and how they affect each other while facing the prospect of death together."
