Rainbow Rowell
From the award-winning, #1 New York Times bestselling author of Slow Dance, Wayward Son, Fangirl, Carry On, and Landline comes a hilarious and heartfelt novel about an office romance that blossoms one email at a time....Beth Fremont and Jennifer Scribner-Snyder know that somebody is monitoring their work e-mail. (Everybody in the newsroom knows. It's company policy.) But they can't quite bring themselves to take it seriously. They go on sending each other endless and endlessly hilarious e-mails, discussing every aspect of their personal lives.Meanwhile, Lincoln O'Neill can't believe this is his job now—reading other people's e-mail. When he applied to be “internet security officer,” he pictured himself building firewalls and crushing hackers—not writing up a report every time a sports reporter forwards a dirty joke. When Lincoln comes across Beth's and Jennifer's messages, he knows he should turn them in. He can't help being entertained, and captivated, by their stories. But by the time Lincoln realizes he's falling for Beth, it's way too late to introduce himself. What would he even say...?

"Now that I’ve finished it, it was just a very chaotic read. It wasn’t gripping or page turning. It was just words on a page. ⭐️⭐️"

"I actually really liked this despite the awareness that these people would go on to have children that are older than me. The premise is really well executed. Mixed media stories usually don't hit for me. Stories in texts and emails and letters and whatever else authors come up with usually feel constrained by the format they've put themselves in, but this time the story felt exactly how it was meant to be and I developed attachments to all the characters. In fact, I like Lincoln well enough and his story was fine (if a little on the nose for me because certain aspects of his life I can relate so hard to and there are certain parts that are basically my destiny) but I was actually more invested in Jennifer and Beth."

"The ending is super cheesey. Like never-in-a-million-years-would-this-actually-happen-but-awwwwe Cheesey. Lincoln is totally adorable and Beth and Jennifer are highly entertaining. Quick satisfying read. "

"Does Rainbow Rowell live in my brain? I don’t know how she knows these things other wise. Or maybe I’m not as alone in my thoughts as I thought. Which is a very nice thought, I think, despite the repetitive nature of these last two sentences.

This was delightful. But if it was only delightful it would probably have been a 4 star read for me. This was more profound than that. I’ve always grouped Rainbow Rowell and John Green together in my mind (and trust me, I could not love the two of them more) because they are the type of authors that make me feel seen. They put beautiful words to my complex feelings and obsessive thoughts, and they make the world seem a little less dark because of it.

This was less of a love story than a simultaneous narrative of personal growth. It’s also a lesson in friendship, of letting go and second chances, and also not to put everything on the internet (I’m laughing at the irony of putting all these thoughts...on the internet). It was many different things at once, but most of all it made me happy and full of love. And a happy, love-filled book is all I need right now."

"This was an amazing book from beginning to end! The characters were funny, smart, and well rounded, and the conversations between Jennifer and Beth via email were my favorite parts. A cute must read. ♥️"
