"2.75 star<br/><br/>I will say I had no idea what was happening until the author decided to let me in on the secret. We follow our main character a petite, non-threatening woman strolling for muscled hitchhikers. Why? You ask. Good luck finding out.<br/><br/>The plot was very engrossing giving little to no information and then slowly feeding it to you keeping you hooked. The twist was crazy and horrific though left out a lot of information. Also the info that was given didn't make a whole lot of sense. The execution could have been better. Which made the second half of the book head in the direction of no where.<br/><br/>Ugh the ending. I definitely knocked off a star for that mess. That and the twist was very contradictory to me. The main character went after men like they were less than animals but looked at sheep as if killing one would be murder. Even though she talk to men and got to know them first. The plot was a great concept but was poorly executed.<br/><br/><br/>Small spoiler upcoming.........<br/>...............<br/>.....................<br/>There wasn't much character development. Also the characters you do meet aren't elaborated on. Just seems like a big chunk was missing from this story. I thought that maybe there was a big message behind the story like a vegan wrote it lol. I dunno it just didn't appeal to me if thats what Faber was trying to do or even if he wasn't."

The movie focuses on power discrepancies of gender, how the protagonist is both powerful and powerless against men, whereas the book focuses on class. It's a complex and at times relatable analysis of the power and powerlessness of the middle class. Extremely well written, relatable, and evocative. "
