"I almost didn't read this. I was afraid it would be too emotional. I'm glad I did. Alan Gratz alternated narrators between Brandon telling his story of 9-11 and Reshmina, 19 years later in Afghanistan. This does a great job letting the reader distance themselves from Brandon's experience just enough. Reshmina's story is just as important. It opens our eyes to some American biases and poses some difficult questions. I definitely recommend this book to both the targeted young adult readers."
"Like all of Alan Gratz's books, this book was harrowing and brought me to tears, but also made me feel hopeful and wiser by the end. The only thing I didn't like was the switching back and forth between characters. While it was done cleverly so that the stories were parallels, it annoyed me a lot."
"Liked the book and the switching between characters of reshmina and Brandon "

"This book actually made me cry, like many alan gratz books it switches between 2 people and to say this book is amazing is an understatement. I won’t spoil anything but it’s an incredible read showing multiple perspectives of the tragedy 9-11"
