"Re-reading The Wheel of Time series since I didn't finish as a teenager. I had forgotten so much about how this all started. Great standalone book and entry point to the series. Always nice to see magic at work in infancy stage and think of how the capabilities will grow.
FYI, if you enjoy this book or the novel series, you probably won't want to watch the TV series... "
"Very reminiscent of Lord of the Rings; a fellowship of people, including a wizard and a warder, go over mountains to visit a white tower. Along the way, one of them is tracked by a being, once a man distorted by an ancient dark magic. Still entertaining through, if it's not broke don't fix it. The series branches out far beyond this though, so much to look forward it."

"My dad made me read this, and it took me FOREVER. It was worth it tho bc of the discussions we had. Would def recommend reading with a friend otherwise it's pretty slow. The author LOVES foreshadowing, so it's pretty cool when you actually pick out stuff on your own. Also if you don't ship Nynaeve and Lan then what are you even doing? 3/5"
"I have to say, I much prefer the original to the show. The show is exquisitely designed, with fantastic effects. It, however, eviscerated the story. I shall now go back and read the books."
