A captivating novel that weaves together elements of fantasy, romance, and historical fiction. Set in England during the year 1184, the story follows Anna, a resilient young woman who has faced hunger and hardship since her teenage years. Her vitiligo, marked by pale shadows on her skin, has made her an outcast, leading her to a life of solitude and exile. However, everything changes when Anna performs a single act of kindness toward a beautiful stranger. In return, she receives a divine peach that grants her immortality. Suddenly, her body remains untouched by time or harm, and she becomes a spectator to the unfolding centuries. The shapeshifting god who gifted her with this eternal life is the only constant presence in her ever-changing world. As Anna takes on different identities and roles throughout history, her kind heart remains unwavering. She witnesses real historical events, including plagues, famine, and cruelty, all while offering help to those in need.

"“Fear is for us all”
I think going into this book blind is important. But what’s also important to note is the fact that I SOBBED 30% INTO THIS BOOK, and I continued to sob a few times over. I LOVE this book and can not wait to see what we get out of part 2 of Anna’s story and her immortal god.🍑🍯
Also can we please shout out the fact she named the donkey “loki” to spite him for being an ass 💀"
"⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5/5
Wow, this book went beyond my expectations. Anna is such a well written character, and the path of her immortality was a journey I think my heart will cherish for some time. I appreciated every character in this book, the good and the bad. Each individual brought a new level of humanity that we sometimes miss in our daily lives. Not to mention the rich history we experience in each chapter, what a fun way to take us through the story (sorry Anna, I know you didn’t have fun)!
But, the friendship and deep love that blooms between Anna and Khiran? Good gods. I achingly desired more, they are chef’s kiss. My only criticism is that I didn’t think there was much reason for Khiran to withhold information about “The First” from Anna for so long… like he eventually ended up telling her and she didn’t spontaneously combust, so I’m not sure what the big deal was for his secrecy (maybe further explanations will be found in Book 2?). It seemed to cause a rift for no reason. Otherwise, Khiran’s adoration for Anna in the beginning blurb of every chapter was so immensely sweet, he is absolutely a fool for this girl and I love how he reveres her.
I really like how you find out why the book is called Peaches & Honey by the last chapter, it’s sort of an allusion to Anna’s beginning and end. This book, again, outdid all my expectations and I am thoroughly excited for Pits and Poison!"
"3.8 stars

- Good writing
- main characters weren’t too personable so I probably won’t remember much about them
- interesting to see Anna go through different events, however it didn’t always feel so detailed in terms of setting, fashion, technology, etc. which I would have enjoyed reading more of as Anna has passed 800 something years
- will I read the next one? Who knows"
