"I really enjoyed the first Bosch novel and was eager to read the second. This installment is very different than the first - there was less of a focus on gritty detective work and more James Bond style action. It didn't come off nearly as well as the first. Hopefully Connelly turns it back around in the next book."

"Second Bosch audiobook done. And it was a hit just like the first. There is just something about this narrator and all those voices he's able to do. He's fantastic. It really helps to bring the story alive while I'm working out or running errands. I find myself just sitting down to listen and get absorbed into the story.<br/><br/>Bosch is one of my favorite characters. Before paranormal romance, before Harry Potter, before urban fantasy, there was Bosch. Bosch is what caught my attention and my love for reading grew. I had forgotten a bit about the first novels so this has been great to go back and refresh my memory. I have highly enjoyed the audiobook since I had read the books previously. I forgot a lot of the people who tend to be against Bosch, even in his own department. It seems Bosch has very little who he can trust and relies almost solely on himself.<br/><br/>I know I had read this before, a long time ago, but when I got to the end, I was still shocked. I probably should have seen it coming, but I enjoyed the ride and I enjoyed being surprised all over again. The suicide of a cop. Every cops nightmare. I love how Bosch never gave up trying to help someone he worked with, even if it was only briefly. Bosch's determination is a key part of his character, even when his bosses would rather sweep the matter under the rug. I'm looking forward to listening to the next part."

The main characters in all of these series were always in there heads. I could relate because I was that kind of person. When Connelly's came about, I found my hero. "
