Maurizio Gucci, heir to the fabulous fashion dynasty, had been ambushed, slain on the steps to his office by an unknown gunman. Two years later, Milan’s chief of police entered the sumptuous palazzo of Maurizio’s ex-wife, Patrizia Reggiani—nicknamed “the Black Widow” by the press—and arrested her for the murder.Did Patrizia kill her ex-husband because his spending was wildly out of control? Did she do it because he was preparing to marry his mistress? Or is it possible Patrizia didn’t do it at all?The Gucci story is one of glitz, glamour, and intrigue—a chronicle of the rise, near fall, and subsequent resurgence of a fashion dynasty. "Very thoroughly researched. Went into the history of Gucci, not just the murder. Very well done, although some of it was a bit long winded."

"Abandoned this one. I couldn't keep the timeline straight. I understand why it bounced around the way it does, but I couldn't settle into it."

"December read…The character development and explanations took away from the story itself. I don’t care about the character’s past if it has very little to do with the story "

"Good Biography, good movie too! Read the book before you watch the movie, it’ll be a lot less confusing! "

"I really liked the plot of this book, but I thought parts of it felt more like a history book than a story following the Gucci family. I did enjoy that it followed the Gucci story all the way through though, unlike the movie which only focused on an aspect of the story. "

"This book was great! This book was long… This book was not what I expected. I probably didn’t retain most of it but the author did make me care about the Gucci family, which I think is impressive. I thought this was going to be a little more true crime so I’m impressed that it’s still kept my attention with not being what I was looking for. I would recommend for the right person. My biggest complaint was how long it was. I would’ve liked it a little more condensed. But that’s just my personal opinion."

"I loved learning about the history of this well known company! It was amazing to read about how involved the family was and how the beginning of Gucci came to be."

"It was really descriptive in how the dynasty slowly grew and came about. How the greed corrupted the family dynasty, explaining why there are no more Gucci’s in the Gucci dynasty. "
