"Captivating characters, murder mystery(ies) with twists and unexpected connections, all set in a retirement community that is quite lively! Look forward to the sequel!"

"This book deserves its hype. I laughed, and I cried, and I can't wait to read the next. I'm intrigued they are making this into a movie, but I can't help but think a mini series would be better. An awful lot happens in this book. Regardless, Helen Mirren had better be cast, because I think she'd be perfect. My fav characters were actually Johnny and Baghid, though all the characters were compelling. They felt real, and most importantly, flawed. Ones life is never without both good & bad."

"Pensioners in a cozy mystery uncovering decades of dastardly deeds, some perpetrated by the pensioners themselves. Seems as if all characters were predators or prey. Three stars out of five"

"So delightful. Very comical and written in a style I can only describe as old and eclectic which makes me very happy"

"I can say this is a decent book. I picked it up after I loved the show “only murders in the building” hoping to meet another unlikely group solving crimes. The group dynamics were the strongest part of book and kept me reading. However, I like to solve the mystery with the group but I couldn’t while struggling to keep track of the multitude of people and their relationships. Rather than putting together clues and theories with the main characters, I felt like a confused outsider who didn’t understand each breakthrough until explained in detail by the characters. It was a little disappointing but maybe just a me problem."

"The murder mystery was good but I didn’t really like the writing style. Especially with the dialogue. Like one of the dialogue parts was like “agreed” agrees Chris which is too many agrees in one line. Then other parts were like “thank you” says Ron then “thank you” says Joyce. It would have been better to say “thank you” said Ron and Joyce. Another thing I didn’t like was Joyces diary entries bc half the time shes not even talking about the murders. I think it would have been better to see Elizabeths diary entries. But I did like the murder mystery part cuz I couldn’t figure it out myself so it was a surprising plot twist."

"This is a cozy mystery. It's smart and fast-paced. There are four in the series with the same four characters, but they are fine as stand-alone stories."
