The Topeka School - Likewise Book Reviews
"So many threads and perspectives in this story that are presented in flashes back and forward. Mainly about Adam, across his lifespan, and his parents, as well as a disturbing sideline about his childhood friend Darren. About toxic masculinity, but that even got lost for me as it covered such a wide range of social issues. "

"Huge, huge fan of this novel. Mechanically brilliant and almost transcendent of genre, I'd describe the writing as a bit like David Foster Wallace-- but replacing the absurdism with realism. Lots of self-referential prose, and rewarding for those tracking along with the split narrators. Not usually a fan of split narration (way overdone these days), but Lerner uses it to great effect."
