"Okay, this was totally not some silly indie YA book some reviews made me think it is. It was actually nice, although sad: Julieta's worries over her parents and the restaurant made my heart sink. Feels like it takes a greater part of the book than her writing and romantic adventures. Loved the twist about her co-author! I wish more books incorporated things like that. Jules' choice of a boy, though.... SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER I hate that Lucas was described as "safe" because, for me, he was caring. The most worried about Jules, the most active to give her a hand, to make her feel safe and sound, to comfort her when she was constantly hurting. The way he reacted in the end felt waaaay off. Like, that's it? After all this time and pining, that's all he said? Aside from that, it's a good YA book, and I enioyed reading it, comparing the boys and different lifestyles they represented, their different ways of thinking."
