An “edgy, sexy” (Booklist) story where love battles against betrayal, and every confession hides a dangerous secret—from the beloved #1 New York Times bestselling author of Verity and It Ends with Us.Auburn Reed's life is one meticulously constructed plan after another. But when she stumbles into Owen Gentry’s art studio, a chance encounter unravels a connection she cannot deny. Owen’s art, created from anonymous confessions, carries an eerie weight, its beauty laced with sorrow and truths too unsettling to ignore. Auburn is drawn to both the man and his mysterious work, and she’s willing to risk everything to know more. But Owen has his own confession. His past is shrouded in secrets that could destroy everything Auburn believes about him. As choices made in the shadows threaten to unravel the delicate bond they’ve created, Auburn soon finds herself trapped in a labyrinth of lies, where love seems as dangerous as it is irresistible. Raw, intense, and brimming with feeling, Confess takes us on a heart-wrenching journey where trust is a fragile weapon in the battle to hold onto what matters most—and true love and family are bonds that can never be broken.

"OMG! That’s how I’m going to start, this book had me hooked by the first page. Colleen Hoover has to be my number one favorite author. I loved how the story actually illustrated the art to give the readers an understanding to the confessions. I had so many emotions while reading, one minute I was sad, happy, angry, and the list goes on. This reminded me a lot of her other book called “Reminders of Him” which is my favorite book from COHO. "OMG𝨭𝨭!! I'm pretty sure I experienced every emotion known to mankind while reading this. This might be a new favorite of mine. I have no words that are adequate enough to express how much I love Owen. This was exactly what I needed to read right now. Absolute perfection!"

"•SPOILER WARNING• wow…. Just wow. I loved and enjoyed this book so freaking much. I read it in less than a day; I couldn’t stop! I am so happy they Auburn and Owen got their happy ending with Aj. I really hated Trey and Lydia. Colleen did a good job of writing the gaslighting and guilt tripping from them. Not going to lie Emory annoyed me at first but I came around at the end. I feel like Colleen was trying to hard to make her the quirky/weird roommate. I loved the whole presence of the book. (If that makes sense) I loved that art and the confessions. I wish I could have gotten to read more. Also, on the subject of reading confessions. Did we ever get to know what Owen and Auburn wrote? I feel like Colleen forgot to write that in or I accidentally read paste it. (Don’t blame me, sometimes my eyes get exited and jump ahead) "

"Such a creative way to use the confessions of others (which are actually from her readers!) and beautiful artwork. Not her strongest book, but very good. I appreciated the fact there were no loose ends and that the story came full circle. A good read. "

"This was not CoHo’s best in my opinion.. but it was a cute romance with a small twist. I’d say the whole first half I felt was stale but once you dig into the plot it gets better though."

"I thought the choice of age of the prologue was a problem, It was slow at first, I don’t think it was confusing, I got so many emotions reading the book. Trey is such a red flag and I kept flipping the page to hope for the best. "
