"Holy ****... (excuse the language but throughout this whole book it was amazing.)
Now would I rate the characters and their actions 5 stars... absolutely not!
The Campbell sisters have never had their life simple like all the other kids did. Courtney, Jess, and Danielle had lived on a ranch with their father in the Western part of Canada where their dad was gone all the time working trying to provide a place for the girls while he was at work. Their father had the worst temper out of everyone you knew. All he cared about was getting drunk and smoking cigarettes all the time. These sisters pretty much had to fend for themselves every since they have been teenagers. Danielle was the oldest, Courtney was the middle youngest, and Jess was the baby. One night their father is suppose to come home to spend the weekend with the girls and a huge fight breaks out at the house while their dad shows up at the house near midnight drunk and his anger ranging and ready to start a fight.
Their dad was upset because he had found out that Courtney was having a relationship with a married man. So he took his anger out on the girls and Danielle had no choice but to choose to kill her dad or let her sister die. Courtney had been warned that if their dad found out she was doing this again that she would have a punishment. So now since Danielle had killed their father, the girls have to come up with a solution to leave town asap so they don't suspect anything. The girls can't stay on the ranch if they wanted to because they don't make enough money to pay the rent every month. Well they have decided that they will run to Vancouver in a big city and change their appearance with the help of people along the way. As they navigate through towns trying to escape and stay out of the police scanners, their truck breaks down on the side of the road and the girls are left stranded out in the middle of nowhere with no transportation. The water pump has broke and they have no money to fix it. T"
"AMAZING READ. Definitely do not read the description and just dive straight in! I had so many wow moments in this book. I loved the characters and was so invested. There was definitely some moments that were hard to read, sexual assault warnings need to be flagged all over. ****SPOILER ALERT*** Finding out Jamie/Jess was pregnant was crazy and the sudden fast forward to the daughter’s perspective gave me chills. Reading how everything unfolded many years later was amazing. And absolutely loved the ending with their dad’s body being discovered and the story they created about his death!"
"Literally the epilogue alone turned this book into a 4.5 star! That was such a powerfully emotional ending WOW

But beware that in the audiobook, the second narrator seems to have a really stuffy nose the whole time and it was pretty annoying. I was able to eventually listen past it, but if you know that’d really bother you—the audiobook isn’t for you."
"A new author for me.A great story with some sadness, shock and a good ending"
