An American girl finds her prince in this "fun and dishy" (People) royal romance inspired by Prince William and Kate Middleton. American Bex Porter was never one for fairy tales. Her twin sister Lacey was always the romantic, the one who daydreamed of being a princess. But it's adventure-seeking Bex who goes to Oxford and meets dreamy Nick across the hall - and Bex who finds herself accidentally in love with the heir to the British throne. Nick is wonderful, but he comes with unimaginable baggage: a complicated family, hysterical tabloids tracking his every move, and a public that expected its future king to marry a Brit. On the eve of the most talked-about wedding of the century, Bex looks back on how much she's had to give up for true love... and exactly whose heart she may yet have to break. Praise for The Royal We "Hysterical" -- Entertainment Weekly "Full of love and humor, and delicious in too many ways." -- Emma Straub, New York Times bestselling author "Engrossing and deeply satisfying." -- Jen Doll, author of Save the Date

"What a fun royal romp!! I was hoping for something dishy and light hearted, and what I got was actually a lot more thoughtful and sweet than I expected. As much as I love a gossipy version on basically the royal family pre-wedding, I came away thinking more of how I really wouldn't want that life than what a fairy tale it is. I honestly would have given this 5 stars if it had been a tad bit shorter. Look, I love some deep character development, but I really think this could have been 300 pages without losing the point. But hey, still loved it...now off to relive the actual royal wedding because hello, it was the best."

"This was a hard listen. It was slow in a lot of spots, the story stalling and plenty of filler seemed to be stuffed in. I'm not terribly interested in the monarchy, so I started this thinking it was just a light fluffy romance. There is a lot of sex, drugs, bad decisions and lack of communication that lands a lot of the characters in trouble. It was a bit on the tedious side.

This is told in 4 parts. From different years. Which is why I felt this was dragging. I actually thought I wouldn't finish the audiobook but forced myself to listen again. It took a few hours for me to get back into it for bits and pieces and to want to know how it ends. Mostly, it's okay. Maybe a better read than listen. I probably would have skimmed quite a bit of this if I had the book and maybe that would have made it not so tedious."
"Interesting characters and relationship dynamics!"
