For suspense-filled, post-apocalyptic thrillers, Wool is more than a self-published eBook phenomenon―it’s the new standard in classic science fiction. In a ruined and toxic future, a community exists in a giant silo underground, hundreds of stories deep. There, men and women live in a society full of regulations they believe are meant to protect them. Sheriff Holston, who has unwaveringly upheld the silo’s rules for years, unexpectedly breaks the greatest taboo of all: He asks to go outside. His fateful decision unleashes a drastic series of events. An unlikely candidate is appointed to replace him: Juliette, a mechanic with no training in law, whose special knack is fixing machines. Now Juliette is about to be entrusted with fixing her silo, and she will soon learn just how badly her world is broken. The silo is about to confront what its history has only hinted about and its inhabitants have never dared to whisper. Uprising. A New York Times and USA TODAY bestseller, as well as Kindle Book Review’s 2012 Indie Book of the Year, the self-published eBook blockbuster Wool will now be available in paperback from Simon & Schuster.

"Great post-apocalyptic/ dystopian book about 100s of survivors living in a converted silo underground."

"I seem to be in the minority here, I was underwhelmed by this book. If anyone else felt this way and continued on with the series, please let me know if it got better! Like, the book was *fine*, not unique, probably a great starter dystopian story, but I felt unchallenged and unsurprised by anything in the book. "

"Thrilling dystopian story here. My attention was kept throughout. Quite a bit different from Silo show but I appreciate that. Will definitely move on to second book."

"4.5⭐️ Great dystopian novel that reads like a slow burn but with unexpected twists. There's so much detail to really illustrate what the characters are feeling, experiencing, and being challenged with, so don't let the page number deter you; you'll fly through the pages. The author dedicated the book to those who dare to hope and it's funny bc I feel like the characters didn't really hope. Hope wasn't their motivation to get through, but as a reader I def had all kinds of hope for the story and how the characters would resolve their challenges. Maybe that's what the author meant."

"Truly an excellent story and characters! I watched Silo first on Apple TV+. LOVED IT. Started reading the book and finished by listening to the audiobook. Both are an excellent time. If you’re new to sci-fi/dystopian, this would be a great start! Every chapter kept me wanting more. "

"Fantastic dystopian series. Absolutely flew through this and immediately bought the rest of the series. Trying to hold off on watching the tv adaptation of this series on Apple TV but it’s going to be tough"

"I made a big mistake before I started reading this book. I watched the Tv show first. This rookie mistake only influenced/infected my imagination with what the Tv series had shown me first. I would’ve rather had a blank canvas. So, don’t do what I did. Read the book first. I enjoyed this take on a dystopian future. Living underground, isolated, hidden from the truth. Seems realistic, something that could happen. The relationships between characters are genuine, the environment is detailed, and the pace of the story is comfortable. I’m interested to see how the story unfolds in the next books. "

"A great read that subverts your expectations in remarkably competent ways. There are no wasteful twists but plenty of chaotic, uncertain events that have you waiting anxiously for them to unfold. I commend the author's first dozen or so chapters in reeling in the audience's expectations within a heavily established genre where we all know what happens next. "

"Not usually a sci-fi fan, but when someone told me the morbid premise, I decided to give it a shot. If you’re looking for something a little different, give it a shot. I’d be surprised if you weren’t intrigued by the first 10-20 pages."
