Immortality: A Love Story - Likewise Book Reviews
"Pretty good. I obviously love the cover and the naked cover, ugh the brain is beautiful! I love biology and anatomy and dissecting things, its fun so this duology already lives in my heart. I'll say it wasn't as good as the first one, it felt different to me, as in the way it was written felt off. I liked the fact that Hazel was given the opportunity to show her skills more, I really enjoyed the details when she "fixed" people, I wish I was able to do that now! Some of the plot felt like it was unnecessary, some of the things that happened was kind of "disappointing" to me because I thought it would go in a different direction. This was almost going to be 3 stars but the ending was nice and cute so 4 stars it is, but book 1 is definitely my favorite! Great duology!"

"This book was good but just couldn't compare to the first book at all! It concluded really well but I thought a lot of the story felt forced. I think some things could have been different but it really wasn't bad. "
"Hazel and Jack!! Loved this book. Initially I was missing the gore dark details found in the first book as i read through the first few chapters. Once the plot opens up and Hazel really starts to roll-up her sleeves again that familiar dark and eerie vibe comes through. Hazel finds herself in France working as a physician to the royal crown after a series of events including some jail time. Shes invited to join a secret society whom also share eternal life after taking a certain potion introduced in the first book.
what happened to Jack? did he survive the hanging? Will Hazel fall for the other charming Dr. trying to impress her? Such a beautifully written Historical romance, with just enough charm and science and bloody surgical mending!"

"Even better than the first book 😫 (you should still read book 1 so you know what is going on and who everyone is) "
"This second book is the perfect ending to Hazel & Jacks love story, that being said the love story of those two characters weren't the epicenter of the whole narrative.
There are loveable characters like Eliza, Charlotte and Simon while the villians are hidden in plain sight literally up until the last 4 chapters.
Dana left the ending open for a possible 3rd installment of this love story BUT it's in no way necessary, almost everything is wrapped up (except for Marie-Ann who is HACKED up; thank you Jack) and Hazel is set off to be a great surgeon, learning and loving eternally my Jacks side

"After finishing Anatomy (which I loved), I had high expectations for the sequel. It didn't really meet those expectations, but nonetheless was good. I do have to say that it was really slow at times, and I wasn't always sure where it was going, but the ending was pleasant, happy, and what I hoped for. I will say that it is kind of falsely marketed being called a love story. Because, while it does have a love story and the main character has a romance, it's not just a love story, and it's so much more than that. Hazel is a female doctor who, at the time, was unheard of, and it was unique. I felt like this book especially focused more on her career than the love story. Jack barely showed up until halfway through, which added to the slowness of the read. And when he did show up, it didn't feel like they had the chemistry they did before. Furthermore, a main plot point was her uncovering the mysteries of Princess Charlotte's sickness and other mysteries surrounding the British monarchy, so the plot isn't focused on her love story as the title suggests it would be. But in the end, there was a love story, so I think that's up for debate."
"4.5/5 rounded up
The only issue I had with this story was that the primary storyline rests only on the FMCs refusal to take the “tincture” because she doesn’t want to watch all her loved ones die, however throughout both books of this duet, she never really has any close relationships aside from Jack. Who had already taken the tincture at the resolution of the previous book… and in the end, of course…
It felt like a very flimsy centerpiece for this otherwise enthralling plot.

I really loved all the concepts built into this story. I was not as impressed with the first installment of the duet, but after finally finishing this one, I feel like the first book was only necessary to eventually tell this story, and it was worth it."
