Three years later, Cass returns, without her sister Emma. Her story is one of kidnapping and betrayal, of a mysterious island where the two were held. But to forensic psychiatrist Dr. Abby Winter, something doesn't add up. Looking deep within this dysfunctional family Dr. Winter uncovers a life where boundaries were violated and a narcissistic parent held sway. And where one sister's return might just be the beginning of the crime.

"This was a pretty good psychological thriller with an unreliable narrator, but at times, the story was a bit confusing. That may have just been me; I don't know.

This book is mainly about a ****** up family. Almost all of the family members are toxic people, and they are focused on manipulating and ruining one another.

I think this book's strongest point was several comments that were made on woman and mental illness. There's an understanding in this book that I haven't seen many other books provide, and I appreciated it. I don't know much about narcissistic personality disorder, which is the prominent disorder discussed in this book, but the descriptions of the depression that Cass & Emma dealt with were spot-on.

Cass consistently talks about people who have a scream inside of them, and I really connected with that when she explained it. The only other authors who have made me feel that way are Sylvia Plath, Joan Didion, and Anne Sexton, and all of them focus a decent portion of their writing on women and mental illnesses.

This book had so many good description of being a teenager - particularly burning jealousy. Walker captured it all so well.

I did guess the final twist pretty early on, but that's okay. It was still a fun journey to get there. I will definitely read another Wendy Walker book, and I have All is Not Forgotten on my shelf now. Thank you to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for sharing this book in exchange for an honest review!"

"This was a very convoluted thriller. I never could figure out what was happening. Which is great if you love surprise twists! My only complaint is that I kept getting lost and had to reread some pages."

"I did enjoyed this book, easy read, and kept me interested till the end. I loved the fact that I couldn’t figure out how the story will end, definitely not what I was expecting. Highly recommended. "

"When two sisters go missing, their seemingly loving family is heartbroken, but when one returns without the other, pleading for help in rescuing her, questions begin to arise. Watch the dark and twisty truth unravel as the story of their disappearance is told. "

"DNF. I couldn't make it through. Reading reviews I feel like I'm missing out but getting half way through and each character repeating the same story I couldn't get to the end"
