Engaged to her childhood sweetheart, the steadfast Dante DeMartino, Lucia is torn when she meets a handsome stranger who promises a life of uptown luxury that career girls like her only read about in the society pages. "<strong>A 1950s Romantic Family Drama</strong><br/><br/>I loved this book. It is a work of fiction with a well-crafted story of a young career woman looking for love in Greenwich Village in 1952. Does she choose the nice Italian boy Dante who lives down the street or the suave and debonaire John Talbot, an "entrepreneur" who travels often and is a mysterious stranger. Trigiani writes her characters as if they are your neighbors and family. You end up knowing her characters as if they are in your real life. It is a great read."
