"I read this book to my 7-year-old son, who is currently learning about the Chinese culture of the middle ages in our homeschool. I honestly don't know what time period this book was meant for, but it was absolutely perfect for this subject. It is bursting with Chinese culture and folklore. The story is beautifully written and conveys deep life lessons throughout. My son and I loved every bit of it! I was surprised by how magically entertaining it was. This may be something we re-read in the future!"
