"yikes... um so i had no idea what to expect, and i was not so pleasantly surprised. i didn't pick up on hardy's commentary on the victorian class system until more than halfway through the book. the actual story is worthless except for the subtle lessons it teaches."

"if angel clare has a million haters im one of them. if he has 1000 haters im still one of them. If he has 1 hater its me. if angel clare has 0 haters it means i have left this world. if the world is against angel clare then I am with the world"

"Thomas Hardy is one of those authors who just “gets” the world. Apart from its tragic plot, this book makes you reflect on little daily things like how bricks on a house hold their warmth hours after sun set. How leaves glint in the sun when the wind flutters through, super romantic world view, mixed with a solid plot, and amazingly more comas than this comment. "
