"If I had to choose one book to be my favorite, I’m sure it’d be this. The coming of age story of Huck brilliantly shows how a young mind can be changed by experience. Reading it as an adult, all I could think of was Jim’s life being held in the grips of an ignorant, whimsical abused child. I started it, thinking “I don’t get it… Twain is so overrated…” But, that’s the beauty. It gets its hooks in you & doesn’t let go. I laughed out loud several times & cried. Beautiful. "
