After putting her own baby up for adoption, she goes looking for her biological family, including—Maya, her loudmouthed younger bio sister, who has a lot to say about their newfound family ties. Having grown up the snarky brunette in a house full of chipper redheads, she’s quick to search for traces of herself among these not-quite-strangers. And when her adopted family’s long-buried problems begin to explode to the surface, Maya can’t help but wonder where exactly it is that she belongs. And Joaquin, their stoic older bio brother, who has no interest in bonding over their shared biological mother. After seventeen years in the foster care system, he’s learned that there are no heroes, and secrets and fears are best kept close to the vest, where they can’t hurt anyone but him.Don't miss this moving novel that addresses such important topics as adoption, teen pregnancy, and foster care.

"This was a page turner! I finished it in half a day. The book was magnificently written. The characters were all developed well. They felt like real people. Your heart hurt for Grace, Maya, and Joaquin throughout most of the book but the ending was beautiful. The book was about the very different lives of Grace, Maya, and Joaquin. They are all biological siblings and find out about each other towards the beginning of the book. They meet each other and eventually click into each others lives. The ending was sweet and had closure for all the characters!"

"I loved this because it felt like I could really feel the pain of the characters. I was on the edge of my seat during the entire book!"

"This book was literally SO GOOD. The writing was amazing, the plot had me hooked, and I loved all the characters, like I was so invested in each of their stories😭the dialogue did get kind of cliche at times which is to be expected because it's YA, but it had so much emotional depth to it and the characters and their struggles felt very real. 10/10 definitely recommend "
"<strong>Memorable! Even after 6 years </strong><br/><br/>I first started reading this book in 2018. I was in middle school (8th grade to be exact) poor and uncertain of where life was taking me. However, my book got stolen and I never got it back. But then I remembered it 6 years later, after giving birth to my own son. After suffering loss at 16 and even more loss at 18 I found my way back to this book that has such beautifully written characters. Their stories of finding families fell along side my own. The feeling of anger and yearning validated my own as I cried and screamed with Maya, Grace, and Joaquin. I pray for these characters and anybody who is experiencing something like them. The peace that is found after finishing the book is wonderful and successfully healed something in me. Thank you Robin!"
