I'm not your average hero. I actually wasn't your average anything. Just a poor guy working an after-school job at a South Beach shoe repair shop to help his mom make ends meet. But a little magic changed it all.It all started with a curse. And a frognapping. And one hot-looking princess, who asked me to lead a rescue mission. There wasn't a fairy godmother or any of that. And even though I fell in love along the way, what happened to me is unlike any fairy tale I've ever heard. Before I knew it, I was spying with a flock of enchanted swans, talking (yes, talking!) to a fox named Todd, and nearly trampled by giants in the Everglades. Don't believe me? I didn't believe it either. But you'll see. Because I knew it all was true, the second I got cloaked.

"This was a quick light fun read. The story was just a bunch of different fairytales thrown together into one plot. The writing was very juvenile but it was entertaining. Johnny annoyed the hell out of me because he kept gaslighting himself into making dumb decisions and besides his obsession with shoes, he didn’t have much of a personality. Phillipe was my favorite character once he became human again. He was just so dumb that every moment he was in just became hilarious. Over all, the book was cute, kinda bizarre but not a bad read. It was just average. Wouldn’t be a go-to for me, but I’ve read worse."
"Loved this book and love Alex Flinn's writing style!! This was the second book by this author I've read (A Kiss in Time was the first) and I love her books and look forward to reading more :) The storyline of this is amazing. So many different fairy tales and stories are woven together to create a cute and not completely predictable love story. All of the characters seems so real and it's like you know them (Victoriana's acting drunk makes me wonder how many celebreties do that. Hmmm...) and are on the edge of your seat to find out what happens to them. I also love Meg's acting with Philippe to make Johnny jealous (so real and makes this such a cute love story). I love all the things Johnny and Meg do to spend time together even though they are extremely busy with an important quest (such as going to NY and playing four truths and a lie). The cloak and opal ring are really awesome parts of the story that would be super duper cool to experience. The only partial complaint I can think of is the talking animals. I am not really a big fantasy fan but Alex Flinn makes me change my mind every time I read her books. I can stand to listen to swans and foxes talk just for her writing. Loved this book and so, so, so looking forward to reading more!!!"
