"An amazing book that later got turned into an awful movie. Don’t let that keep you away from the book if you haven’t read it already. "

"Quite enjoyable. Again, better than the film. It's weird how the movie seemed to reverse the roles of Sarah and Ian. Anyhow, it is so wonderful to emerse in a modern world of dinosaurs. The details are quite vivid. Enjoyed this adventure very much."

"Fantastic sequel to Jurassic park. High paced and terrifying. The characters are not very relatable, but it is easy to see who is the bad guy and who is the good guy. Michael Crichton does a stellar job of giving his characters exactly what they have coming to them. Spoilers... On an island full of men, The girls save the day."

"Definitely nowhere near as good as the original novel by Michael Creighton, but still a movie/TV show/book worth watching"

"This one seemed a little slower than the first but it is just as good. "

"I cannot get this book out of my head. It was just so striking how different The Lost World was compared to screen adaption(which in my opinion was entertaining but objectively a bad movie).

I really get the feeling that Crichton understood the scientific research that was put into this novel. He really understood the scientific and academic communities as well. Chrichton included wonderful teenage characters as well as some badass female characters.

This novel was everything I wanted from the Jurassic Park series. It was terrifying, yet enthralling, and I couldn't get enough. It touched on topics of generational knowledge, feminism, and issues in academia. There were also corporate espionage and government conspiracy theories. The Lost World had such a satisfying ending as well. I will definitely be reading more of Crichton's work in the future."

"I haven't read it in years, since my freshman year, like 16 years ago, I love the children in this one so much more than the first, and more Ian Malcolm is always a plus in my book. "
