"This book is only about 200 pages long....yet it took me WEEKS to read it.....*sigh* It actually is a really charming little book and Ray Bradbury has an amazing talent for describing things so well that you can actually 'smell' the fresh cut grass and 'hear' the dogs barking etc. It is a collection of short stories about a boy named Doug and his family and the adventures he has in the summer of 1928. The stories are quite delightful and often funny.......with a few mystery pieces here and there. I guess I just wasn't in the mood to read this book for if I had been I would have finished it in a day and would have had a much better review for it."
