"This book was very fast paced with several characters which was tough to keep up with at first. The time in history that is covered is dark and sad. However, it was an overall very good read with a great story line and small moments of hope sprinkled in. 3.5⭐️"

"I’m not a huge fan of historical fiction (especially not WWII fiction) but this one was nice. Don’t be fooled by the short chapters (they’re two to three pages at most), the plot is incredibly detailed and fleshed out. I was a little lost at times since you are following the lives of two separate people, in two separate places, but for the most part it was easy enough to keep track of everything. The setting is great, the characters are developed and the plot is there. 4/5 for the parts of the book that had me a little lost. "

"I loved the way the characters of this book were written with a personal sense of pain that strikes where it hurts. This didn’t just feel like a World War II book, it felt like a journey of finding yourself in a world that didn’t care who you were at all."
