"I needed to GTFO of romantasy, it was consuming my life (in the best way!), so I took a hard left turn into holiday romances! But it’s Beth O’Leary, so quality holiday romance at least.

This wasn’t my favorite of hers, but truthfully I didn’t expect it to be. Again, tis the season, and thankfully it was much better than the cheesy Hallmark movies I tend to consume this time of year.

The characters were a little stale, and while I love a hate to date, I wasn’t really buying the tension. But man did I relate to Izzy, I ended up highlighting quite a bit, and really that’s all I need in a book: relatable mains that I can root for! Check and check!"

"Beth O'Leary consistently writes characters I fall in love with! I debated between 4 and 5 stars for this book. I did thoroughly enjoy it, even if it was a classic misunderstanding leads to enemies-to-lovers plotline. Despite the mostly unoriginal story itself (it was exactly like reading "The Hating Game" again) I loved being part of Izzy and Lucas's life for a few months. Along with a great cast of secondary characters!"

"4/5 ⭐️ It had been a minute since I’d read a Beth O’Leary book, but as soon as I picked this one up, I instantly remembered why I love this author. This is an enemies to lovers/grumpy x sunshine/workplace romance with the leads trying to save the hotel they work at (plus it takes place at Christmas, which I had no idea about). It’s also super cute!! It definitely reads as more rom com than her previous books. This one took the time to flesh out more of the romance, but it wasn’t quite as emotionally hard-hitting. The cast of characters was so endearing (especially the male lead). If you are not a fan of the miscommunication trope, this won’t be your thing as that is definitely an issue throughout the book, but I still had a great time. I almost wish that I had read this around the holidays because I feel like I would have enjoyed it even more. This story was just so cute and cozy, and it made me fall back in love with this author all over again."
