"This was an insightful and knowledgeable way of looking at trauma, healing and resilience specifically at childhood where trauma starts for some people. I liked the interview format with Oprah interviewing the doctor. There were some statements that were said by the doctor that made me go huh but overall it was interesting and informative."
"I really enjoyed this audiobook. It felt like a podcast open discussion on important topics presented in a conversational and segments made easy to digest "

"This book, which is basically a long conversation between Oprah and trauma expert Bruce Perry is excellent. It’s such an easy way to take in a very difficult subject. I think that this book would resonate with anyone who has gone through childhood trauma in particular but also, in any walk of life you come across people who’ve had it much worse than you. This is just as good as The Body Keeps The Score in my opinion but a little less scientific. It’s both shocking and sad to learn how much of life can all be tied back to your first 18 years."
"I've honestly been putting this book off, as I'm not a huge fan of Oprah's, BUT this has now become one of my favorite books and I'm really glad I gave it a chance. I was afraid it was going to be about her life, which small parts were, but overall this book was on topic and extremely relatable to the everyday person. Very similar to 'The Body Keeps the Score' and 'Whole Again' if you liked those/want more about developmental trauma 👍🏼👍🏼"
"So insightful "

"As a masters level social worker, I was familiar with a lot of the content. However, I applaud the way it was written. It was written in a conversational manner, but in a way that the average person could understand trauma and the workings of mental health in that aspect. I recommend it. "
"For all things trauma and self awareness, I highly recommend this healer!"
