"⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2 Not for everyone. Extremely dark, weird, confusing and messed up. To say I enjoyed it would be a stretch but I didn’t hate it. I don’t even know what else to say "

"This is a very difficult book to read. While it is gripping, suspenseful, and terrifying, it's not a horror or a thriller in a typical way - its terror lies in the pain described in almost every aspect of the characters' lives. Like, the concept of any of the plot happening is horrifying and gets worse with every page. Very good book if you are into that.
TW/SPOILERS BELOW:
Child abuse, domestic violence, adultery, human/dog experimentation, animal abuse & graphic death, graphic murder, drug abuse, human trafficking, probably a bunch of other stuff I'm missing"

"Great beginning and end. Long, boring middle. 3.5 / 5. Definitely some messed up things going on in this book. "

"2 1/2 stars for very competent writing but too complicated a plot. Maybe would be better after a second read, but I won't. Bizarre experimentation on dogs, animal cruelty triggers."

"I really enjoyed it! 4/5 stars! There were some moments I was losing focus but the last third of the book is so good it’s worth it. The twists… very well done, my mouth was agape many times. It’s not as good as The Last House on Needless Street but this is definitely an author I want to keep coming back to"
