"5/5 I had heard the series gets better after the first book and was it ever true! I really liked the first book but this one was so much better!! The found family and banter in this one was incredible. There were some parts that I was questioning at the beginning and some plot points that didn’t feel like they would come together but it did and it was so much fun! Loved the mix of action and romance. Also like how the book ends with anticipation but not a painful cliff hanger. This had a small amount of spice (more that book one) but for how long the book was I do not think this was a spicy read. 2/5 spice level. "
"2.5/5 - ik ppl love this book. it was just too slow for me. there wasn’t enough plot until the last of the three parts. the last part was riveting but getting there was near impossible. i almost quit on the series as a whole. some scenes were also sappy to the point i found myself skimming to get back to plot. i’d like to see more development of the found family and battle aspects over the romance and trades. "
"*Edit: 12 hours after writing this I thought “wow, I miss everyone” and downloaded the next book 😂* Guys, look, don’t come for me (okay come for me if you want to, I get it) but… this book was just way too long. I would have loved it if it were 200 pages shorter (I’m down bad for Rhysand) but the bloat slowed my reading experience. Looking at the next book and seeing it’s over 700 pages has me debating whether I should continue with the series. 🫣"
