"I would definitely recommend this series to anyone who likes paranormal romance/urban fantasy! It took me a little while to get into this book, maybe because it really did just have a slow start or maybe because I waited too long to pick this one up after finishing the last one, I don't really know, but once I got about 80-100 pages in things started to pick up. I'm definitely glad I stuck with it because I've really enjoyed this series! This was a pretty big book but it was definitely worth the read in my opinion! I loved getting to see Jem and Tessa! The ending was so emotional, Cassandra did Simon so dirty! I can't wait to see more of Emma and Jules! Next up, The Bane Chronicles!"

"I finally finished the mortal instrument series. It was one of those series that I have been abandoning and coming back to for the last ten years. Overall, I enjoyed it; Cassandra's ability to create characters and worlds and make you care about them is unmatched. The fact that Simon lost his memories was a bit of a curve ball that I didn't enjoy, but it was a creative choice she made, and I respect it. Each and every character was unique and equally lovable in this series. "

"This series has been amazing. I admit that I wasn't sure it was worth the fuss that I had been told, but it has been one of the best series I have read in a long time."

"This book felt like it could have been shorter then it was but it was good. Things were tied up nicely though there where a few things I wish had turned out differently (yes, I mourn for fictional characters) but it was a good story either way."

"4 stars because I liked the ending. Otherwise it would be less.

1) Nearly all the characters became annoying with them all arguing over who would be the best martyr. The series could have probably been only 5 books if the author would have left out all of the self sacrificing whining.

2) The romantic tension between Clary and Jace was serious overkill. Like you've got to be kidding me.

3) How many times can a person faint or pass out? I swear it happened every other chapter in this series.

Those things annoyed me to the point where I almost put the series down. Thank God the author had the sense to give it a good ending to redeem some of it."

"This one was long, but I finished it quicker than the others because so much happened. They introduced Emma, Julian, and the other Blackthorns. Best book in the series! Enjoy ⭐⭐⭐"
