"This was enjoyable. I think I will more than likely read the next book.

‼️Warning‼️
This book contains adult scenes and violence.

This book does leave you on a cliff hanger.

There were points where the writing felt a bit childish, but it worked for some of the scenes because the banter just felt like Peter Pan. I don’t know if that makes sense, but the author did a good job with it. I’d say the last three chapters, I did not enjoy. Wendy was a little dumb.

I loved how the author tied in moments from the movie that we all know and love as well."
"An adult retelling of Peter Pan with just enough spice for you to enjoy.

4.9/5

Book Reviews | Pillowfort | <ahref=" https://twitter.com/Revengelyne">Twitter | Bookbub | Spoutible"
"I think this might be one of my favourite books so far this year.

Peter Pan is one of my favourite stories, and A.C. Wise's ability to switch from whimsy to heartbreak and terror is phenomenal. I sensed inspiration from Lord of the Flies (island overrun by monstrous little boys), a little Fried Green Tomatoes (female friendships forged in adversity, with a possible hint at Wendy not being straight).

Wendy, Darling's additions to the Neverland lore are solid, adding a clear through-line to how sometimes growing up changes your perspective on your childhood, and how Peter Pan and the inhabitants of Neverland fared since Wendy, John, and Michael were first whisked away on their adventure so many years ago.

In summary, this book is a knockout. Haunting, beautiful prose; a well-paced plot; and the ultimate showdown between life, loss, wonder, and reality.

My thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for a digital ARC in exchange for an honest review."
"I love a good Peter Pan retelling! Even better, when the story centers around the dark side of the fairy tale. There is no such thing as a happily ever after in the real world.

I loved the dark theme and interpretation of Peter Shadow as a monster of Neverland told from both perspectives, Wendy and her daughter, Jean, we say Netherlands in a whole new light.

Wendy, after leaving Neverland suffers from PTSD, as no one believes her stories. Wendy must overcome her struggles to save her daughter from the world of make-believe. This is amazing story of the bond that her mother and daughter sure."
