"I really enjoyed this book. Great storyline. I liked Caroline and Rowans, Caroline is coming off from a bad marriage and moved to New Mexico for peace and quiet. You will love her. Rowan is the next-door neighbor who is in hiding. You will hate and love him. He sees her every day and tries to get her to talk to him. Eventually, she does and then it just explodes from there. They both have a past with secrets, which as the story starts to unfold come to light. The story didn't start off as Dark Romance, definitely has dark parts.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review."

"⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
“A dark, devastatingly beautiful story that stole my breath and held my heart hostage.”

Willow Winters has done it again with His Hostage. From the very first chapter, I was pulled into a world of tension, desire, and emotional turmoil that never let up. This isn’t just a dark romance—it’s a deeply layered exploration of power, control, and the twisted ways love can grow in even the most dangerous places.

The heroine is complex and strong in her own way, even in the face of impossible circumstances. I felt every ounce of her fear, confusion, and eventual longing. And him—the anti-hero who should feel like the villain but somehow makes you ache for him? Absolutely magnetic. Willow has a way of making you fall in love with the kind of man you should run from, and she does it with such skill that you don’t even notice you’ve crossed the line between right and wrong until it’s too late.

The push and pull between the characters is electric. Every stolen glance, every whispered threat, every moment of vulnerability—it was all so intense, so intimate, that I often had to pause just to breathe. The writing is seductive and raw, with a rhythm that mirrors the characters’ emotional rollercoaster.

I also appreciate how Willow doesn’t shy away from the darkness. She confronts it head-on, letting the story unravel in a way that feels authentic and dangerous, yet somehow still beautiful. And the ending? Perfectly paced, full of tension and emotion. It left me wanting more while also feeling completely satisfied.

If you’re a fan of dark romance with real emotional depth, unforgettable characters, and steamy, tension-filled storytelling, His Hostage is absolutely a must-read. Just be warned—you won’t come out of this one the same."
