Skye Falling - Likewise Book Reviews
"A 12 year old girl tracks down Skye to let her know that she is the “egg” whom Skye donated. The two forage a relationship and we follow Skye as she unpacks her trauma and finds love in many unexpected places. I like parts of this book that focused on important social issues. Skye, the main character however, was hard for me to like. I didn’t care for her at all and it made this a little hard to get through. 3/5. "
"The synopsis of Skye Falling sounded so fun to me, but it's difficult to stay in Skye's point of view for so long. She's awful to everyone around her, and it got frustrating quickly. Sometimes this is totally fine, but for this book, there wasn't enough going on outside of Skye to maintain my interest. I think I might have enjoyed this more with alternating chapters."
"This book was so addicting I read most of it in like 4 hr marathons lol I love the characters. Skye is like a lot of people I know who are kids with trauma. She pretends she’s hard when really she’s a marshmallow. Also I love the idea of her having the relationship with Vicky where she talks openly about her problems and the kid sees her and listens. But also I love the personality that Skye has as a character like she’s talking to an audience. It’s really funny. I wish it could be adapted. Would love to see it"
"Loved the inner monologue from Skye, how the author put all her thoughts in the moment. The storyline was predictable and the same old finding yourself story and coming to understanding ones need for therapy and relationships. I couldn’t relate to any of the characters. Loved the backstory of the egg donor, it was different than any other book I’ve read."
