"This was an incredibly powerful read. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The highs in her life were extremely high and the lows were extremely low. There were a few slow spots for me and it took me almost a week to read, however, the impact it made trumped the slower parts. I would also like to remind anyone who reads this that it is a memoir. This book occurred in the late 1800s and early 1900s, and was written in 1933. A lot of the language is not "politically correct" nowadays. If you are sensitive to that type of language, I would not recommend. Also, there were many times when I didn't understand the phrases or certain words and had to do some research. I highly recommend this book nonetheless. Extremely inspiring and heart-wrenching."
