WARNING: This is NOT your typical romance. The story of Jake & Abby contains disturbing situations, graphic violence, sex, strong language, drug use, and all types of abuse. Homeless, sleeping in a junkyard, and on the run from a system that has failed her over and over again, Abby meets Jake, a tattooed blue-eyed biker with secrets that rival her own. Two broken souls that can't be healed, they can't be saved. Abby and Jake have to decide if they can accept the darkness not only within one another, but within themselves. If they can accept each other for who they really are they might learn that love isn't always found in the light...

"4 Stars! I truly enjoyed reading this book.
“We may not have been perfect, or even acceptable by anyone else’s standards. But together, we were perfect.
Together, we were just us.
Battered and broken. Dark and difficult. Impulsive and scared.”
― T.M. " Second Time Read Review

First Off, I have an unhealthy obsession with Mrs. Frazier's King series. Frazier is fantastic at interweaving smart ass comedy and unrealistic drama within her characters and story line. However, Dark Light of Day is not my favorite book by the author and is probably the worst in the King universe.

Abby is the heroine and main POV in the story. With a troubled past and even more flimsy future, Abby must learn to trust Jake, the story's leather clad hero. 💋💋

Jake main attributes include being quite, making occasional smirk induced comments, and being a killer for hire. Soooo honestly, not that much to this character.

Somehow, Abby, a wildly independent strong female, falls in love with ....Jake. (deducted one ⭐)

After the drama filled climax, Abby trusts someone who treated her like **** AND physically brought harm to her. Abby, who was written as a character so traumatized by an abusive past that she can't even be touched without feeling burned, trusts someone that wronged her? Really?
Not plausible. (deducted one ⭐)

Finally, my last deducted ⭐ went to Abby automatically trusting someone who left her alone at 17, because he got butt hurt over a rumor. Abby may eventually forgive and forget, but she seemed like the type to make someone grovel over it.

I gave up reading at 91%. 🤷

"
