Julie Anne Peters
National Book Award finalist Julie Anne Peters delivers a moving, classic love story between two girls. With a steady boyfriend, the position of Student Council President, and a chance to go to an Ivy League college, high school life is just fine for Holland Jaeger. At least, it seems to be. But when Cece Goddard comes to school, everything changes. Cece and Holland have undeniable feelings for each other, but how will others react to their developing relationship? This moving love story is for fans of Nancy Garden's classic young adult coming out novel, Annie on My Mind. With her characteristic humor and breezy style, Peters has captured the compelling emotions of young love.

"One the first LGBTQ books I ever read and one I find myself rereading time and again throughout the years. The author has a way with words and I have been a fan forever (Define Normal- look it up!). Holland has it all, grades, boyfriend, College plans- yet she feels empty and wanting. Enter Cece- an out loud lesbian forcing the school to not only acknowledge but make room for her and the others. And Holland is shocked to find there IS others. However, she soon finds some are not as accepting..."

"It was one of the few books I have read that really deal with the reality of being LQBTQ+ and the struggles that come with it. It is definitely a slow burn but it is so worth the bittersweet ending. 10/10!!"

"Probably one of the first LGBTQ+ books I read when I first came out. It is well written & is understandable as a story that needs to be told. However, as someone living the queer experience, it was very depressing and made me afraid to come out to people."
