"If you want to read a book that feels like a slightly campy teen slasher, it's pretty okay. I think there is too much delving into the romance and weird pacing. Fun to take turns reading aloud with someone though"

"⭐️⭐️ Watched the movie on Netflix first and enjoyed it. Parts of the book were decent but it wasn’t my favorite, really fell flat. The characters were really blah. "

"Tries to be a thriller and a romance, but fails at both."

"While initially unbearable, the romance in the story turned out to be my smallest complaint with this story. Rather the reveal of Makani's secret after being built up until the final act fell flat and the story suffered for its anti-climax. The only redeeming quality seemed to me the twist on the killer's motive in the end. Overall a read I enjoyed in the same way one enjoys a bad comedy, I can't say the same for the horrific film adaptation though..."

"9/10!! SO good. it was also a little slow at the beginning, but it really leaves you guessing. it’s super detailed (not good if you don’t like gore or anything like that since it follows a bunch of murders in a small town), but i got super into it!! i’m definitely going to read it again, even if it doesn’t have the same effect as the first read through!!"
