Why Are All the Black Kids Sitting Together in the Cafeteria? - Likewise Book Reviews
"I wish the book was more in-depth in the middle chapters, especially while addressing the titular question of the book, however, it starts and finishes strong and the research it presents is thorough. I believe this is a must-read for anyone looking for more of the psychological science behind racial/ethnic/group identity."
"I was a little bit nervous when I started reading this that I wouldn’t be able to see it through since I typically prefer fiction, but I am very happy to say that I was dead wrong. Beverly Daniel Tatum discusses racial issues in such an eloquent way (while also using “layman’s terms”) that I was hooked after just the prologue!

I had owned this book for about a year before finally reading it and my only regret is that I didn’t read it sooner. It illuminated so many things that I, as a white woman, have had the privilege of never experiencing or even noticing before.

I’ve recommended this book to every single person who’s asked about it, and even most of those who haven’t. I cannot wait to read it again (but with a highlighter and notepad handy).

If you consider yourself to be an ally, or even if you just want to learn more about the racism and discrimination that continues to plague the US, then this is a fantastic and invaluable resource and you should absolutely give it a chance."
