"The Riyria Revelations books continue to be entertaining, but the quality of both the writing and the story leaves something to be desired. I've been listening to the audiobook version of this with Nicole and I often wake up in the morning having dozed off. Not quite the effect an adventure novel should have! There are certainly some witty zingers in here, but Sullivan's handling of tension and emotion often feels clumsy and forced. But I have to finish the series now to find out how it all ends... only one more book to go."
