Monsieur Perdu can prescribe the perfect book for a broken heart. But can he fix his own? Monsieur Perdu calls himself a literary apothecary. From his floating bookstore in a barge on the Seine, he prescribes novels for the hardships of life. Using his intuitive feel for the exact book a reader needs, Perdu mends broken hearts and souls. The only person he can't seem to heal through literature is himself; he's still haunted by heartbreak after his great love disappeared. She left him with only a letter, which he has never opened. After Perdu is finally tempted to read the letter, he hauls anchor and departs on a mission to the south of France, hoping to make peace with his loss and discover the end of the story. Joined by a bestselling but blocked author and a lovelorn Italian chef, Perdu travels along the country’s rivers, dispensing his wisdom and his books, showing that the literary world can take the human soul on a journey to heal itself. Internationally bestselling and filled with warmth and adventure, The Little Paris Bookshop is a love letter to books, meant for anyone who believes in the power of stories to shape people's lives.

"I think you will love it, Grey. The book is full of insight to take away. Hard to explain, but I bet you’d get it if you read this. Perdu is a troubled, but talented, book seller who sees into the souls of other people. He heals them, but he can’t heal himself until he takes a journey on his canal boat/bookshop. The other people on this journey are a trip. Let me know what you think if you read it. "

"Such beautiful, almost poetic, writing. This book makes you want to literally “stop and smell the roses”. The feelings that were described and then acted on makes one question their own self and if they are truly at peace. Loved this book."

"I think they greatest compliment I can pay this book is to flag it to read again in the future. I have the distinct feeling that I am reading this book both too soon and too late. And I feel like while I acknowledge the message this book is trying to pass on, it is not something I am processing in my own life. Which basically makes me the version of Perdu at the start of this novel. Hopefully the next time I read this I can be closer to the version of Perdu at the end"

"This book had some statements about life that I needed to read, and some were confirmed for me in this book. This book is a lot about love and finding yourself after a crippling period of grief. This book has some hard truths about living as well. I did get sort of confused towards the end, but that's ok. In all, this book was a journey."

"DNF but I read through enough of it that I’m considering it as a finished book. There are so many false endings that I grew tired of it. The book was decent enough, full of cute cliches and whatnot, but I went in looking for a fun little adventure and not a romance novel."
