Death Note, Vol. 1

"The foreshadowing is so subtle. While I’m rereading this, I’m slowly catching up on all the tiny little details that the author inputs. <br/><br/>I think stories like these are always so well crafted. The author knew where he was going or at least a very good idea of it. <br/><br/>The “crime” genre is really highlighted by the lineart. The lineart really is gorgeous. It does semi-realism quite well, especially so in ink. The crime aspect of this also was in the shading and particular toning used. It’s not for everyone, but it suits the story. <br/><br/>After seeing the first live action movie, I’m surprised at how well they did! They got an actor that looks close to Light, enough so that I’m struck at how similar they look. All the other actors also looked very similar to how Obata drew them. <br/><br/>Not for everyone."

"3.5<br/><br/>This magma was cleverly written and is complex. There is no line between right and wrong in this magma. It could be argued that what Light is doing is wrong but at the same time it can be argued that what Light is doing is right. Multiply times i find myself switching sides. <br/><br/>The main character is Light. L isn’t a bad guy but he is the antagonist to Light. L is the detective that is trying to find Light. They are both really smart characters. They both found clever ways to get closer to there goal. L has come closer than you would think of finding out who was killing the criminals.<br/><br/>I rated it 3.5 stars because i couldn’t fully connect to the story. It was interesting but i was bored at parts. I think the god of death could of been better and i wasn’t connected to Light. There wasn’t that much to him except for the smart student that got a death notebook and wants to kill the criminals. He isn’t even shown to have a personal life (friends, hobbies, likes, dislikes, family relationship, ect. Light has a family but he isn’t shown to have any kind of relationship with them)"
