The Paris Wife - Likewise Book Reviews
"Hemingway, being my favorite writer and, in my humble opinion, the best writer of the 20th century, I am generally prejudiced about anything related to him, as it never seems to be good enough.
This book is GOOD.
What struck me most about The Paris Wife was how it balanced Hemingway’s larger-than-life presence with Hadley’s quiet resilience. At first, it was hard to shake off the lens of A Movable Feast, but eventually, Hadley’s perspective took over, revealing her heartbreak, sacrifices, and strength.
The story is both poignant and heartbreaking, and it moved me to tears.
I’m sure this book will stay with me for a long while.

"Highly engaging!"
"It's hard to put into words how good this book was. The author just paints such a good picture of what their life was like. I didn't have a lot of expectations starting the book. I don't know much about Hemingway and haven't read his books so I didn't know if I'd find the story interesting. Well it was interesting and had me hooked. "

"There were a lot of moments where I was consumed by their connection…before the devastation…the realization of it being over. After this book, I was OBSESSED with Hemingway. I like to tell people that “I love to hate him”. Love his work…but…yeah, you get the picture. This book puts you RIGHT there, in the center of it all. If you’ve read “A Moveable Feast”, you know what I’m talking about. "

"I love so many! ... but for historical fiction, The Alice Network by Kate Quinn is one of my favorites. Currently have Paula McLain's When the Stars Go Dark is on my TBR stack"

"Bothered by the affair within this story but the history of hemmingway and his twisted mind was very captivating "

"This was a 3 1/2 star book for me. I was interested in the characters, especially after having seen Midnight in Paris which was in the same setting/time period. Although I appreciate that the actual events in this story didn't seem embellished, in the end I didn't feel like much really happened! From a historical fiction standpoint I liked it though. <br/>"
